Jon Lewis, Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, UW Health at The American Center

Jon Lewis serves as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UW Health at The American Center, where he is accountable for the operating performance of the hospital and management of all related resources associated with the hospital's operations. Jon also serves as the administrative leader for the UW Health Musculoskeletal (MSK) service line.

 

Jon has been with UW Health since February 2020, after spending 17 years working for SSM Health, most recently as the Vice President of Operations for St. Mary's Hospital – Madison.

 

A nurse by background, Jon loves the challenge of operations and enjoys having a wide range of responsibilities. During his nursing career, he spent time as an ER nurse, ICU nurse and as an Organ Procurement Coordinator. His first professional management role was as an OR manager, and from there he had the opportunity to take on a number of different positions ranging from project manager to Vice President. Jon has also served as an adjunct instructor for the MBA program at Edgewood College, where he taught courses in operations management and quality improvement.

 

Jon received his Master of Business Administration degree from Edgewood College and his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UW-Madison. He holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from UW-Madison and is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
