UW Health Northern Illinois: Frequently asked questions

Patients in Northern Illinois can find all of the information they need on the UW Health website.

SwedishAmerican is now UW Health

Since 2021, we have been introducing the UW Health brand throughout Northern Illinois. The next step is making access to all UW Health resources easier by consolidating the two websites we currently have into one.

The swedishamerican.org website has been integrated into uwhealth.org. Patients, employees and referring providers will use uwhealth.org for all of their needs including clinic information, MyChart access, patient education, referring physician links and job opportunities.

For patients

All of the information that was located on swedishamerican.org can now be found at uwhealth.org, including physician listings, clinic location information, upcoming events and more.

By consolidating information into one site, patients, regardless of where they live, have access to the same information in a timely manner. This change will also allow our Illinois patients access to all of our patient education materials at patient.uwhealth.org.

If you use the website to locate clinic information, find a physician or access MyChart, your entry point will now be uwhealth.org. You will need to update your bookmarks to the same content on uwhealth.org.

Whether you are a patient of UW Health in Northern Illinois or in Madison, Wis., if you use MyChart you can access your medical records, schedule appointments and message your provider just as you always have. Even though the logos and colors may look a little different than what you're used to as a SwedishAmerican patient, you can still access all of your information at mychart.uwhealth.org.

The uwhealth.org website serves all UW Health patients, including those who rely on UW Health clinics and hospitals in Madison, Wis. and surrounding communities and those who use clinics and hospitals in Rockford, Ill.

When scheduling appointments or to ask questions, patients should call the phone numbers for the clinic locations in the communities where they receive care.

No. Patients will not see any changes in their insurance and billing. For questions or more information, visit uwhealth.org/billing.

In the upper left corner of the website there is a link titled Find a Doctor. When you click on this link, you will go to the Find a Doctor landing page. In the search bar, enter your clincian's name if known. You can also search for providers by state or specialty.

Alternatively, the original listing of providers is still available for a limited time on swedishamerican.org.

In the upper left corner of the website are links to common pages, including our Find a Doctor, Conditions & Services and Locations & Clinics. Clicking on each of those links will take you to a page where you can search for specific information.

In the upper right corner of the website, there is a magnifying glass. When you click on the magnifying glass, you can search across all pages of the website for information.

The SwedishAmerican health system served the Rockford community for more than 100 years. It continues to do so as part of UW Health, the academic health system associated with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Learn more
