Harvest of the Month: Crockpot Rhubarb Applesauce

 

 

Ingredients

  • 3 apples, chopped
  • 1 lb rhubarb, cut into 2-ince pieces
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup or honey
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Pleace ingredients in crockpot and stir.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours.

If you prefer a smoother texture, you can mash or blend if desired.
