This courses will be taught in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines. The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide health professionals with:
- Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest
- Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children
- The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest
Please note: This course is for participants with a current American Heart Association PALS provider card who are due to renew. If you do not have a card issued by the American Heart Association, please contact the EEC at (608) 263-7259 before registering. Intended students must have good understanding of EKGs prior to course.
Important: Current certification in Healthcare Provider CPR is required. CPR must be obtained through AHA or American Red Cross.

Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well-being of infants and children.
Please register for only one class session. That means only one roster registration OR one waitlist registration. Signing up for more than one class prevents other people from getting their certification. You must sign up for a class by 7AM the day before the class.
To cancel your registration you must call the Emergency Education Center at least three business days before the start of your scheduled class. If you cancel within the accepted timeframe, you will receive a credit for the full amount. If you cancel fewer than three business days before the start of your scheduled class, you will not receive a refund or credit.
If you report for class and are unable to take the course because your PALS is not current you will not receive a refund for the course. In the event that the Emergency Education Center must cancel a class due to low enrollment or because of an ill instructor, a makeup date will be provided or your payment can be refunded.
