Sarah Gilbert, PA, is a physician assistant at UW Health. Sarah performs full skin exams to diagnose and treat skin cancer and helps patients manage other common skin conditions. Sarah’s care philosophy is to treat her patients the way she’d want to be treated as a person and a patient — with respect, kindness and patience. She wants them to know that the best care is being provided for them every single day. Developing a good patient-provider relationship is important to Sarah. Patients might visit more often in a dermatology setting than in primary care due to the chronic nature of skin conditions, so maintaining a good relationship is key. One of the most rewarding parts of taking care of patients is seeing them come in with a chronic skin condition they’ve had for years and finally finding the treatment that works for them. They can feel good in their skin again.
