What the different terms mean
UW Health is the integrated health system affiliated with the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In some service areas, UW Health also develops strong partnerships with independent providers who provide care at UW Health locations. Through all of our clinicians you can expect the same remarkable care.
Faculty, UW–Madison
Physicians providing clinical care to patients at UW Health facilities and who hold academic faculty appointments at the UW School of Medicine and Public.
UW Health Provider
Providers employed by UW Health focused on patient care.
Independent Provider
Independent Providers offer patient care at UW Health locations and are neither employed by UW Health nor are they faculty of UW School of Medicine and Public Health.
