Troy Lawrence, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for patients with epilepsy, functional neurological disorders, other types of movement disorders and seizures.
Along with his colleagues, he determines the best seizure treatments, which may include medication, surgery, implantable devices or a special diet for patients who have controlled and difficult-to-control seizures.
Before his practice in neurology, Troy worked in emergency, primary and adult care settings. He believes it’s important to stay attuned to the latest treatments and help patients explore new options that might help them in ways they did not previously think possible.
Troy likes to get to know his patients which he thinks helps to manage their chronic condition. When asked what drew him to the medical profession, Troy says he simply enjoys helping people overcome their suffering.
I focus on their overall well-being and help them to become the healthiest person their bodies will allow them to be.
