About

Tahmeed Contractor, MD, is a UW Health cardiac electrophysiologist. He specializes in heart rhythm problems and helps patients whose hearts beat too fast or too slow.

Dr. Contractor treats patients with heart rhythm issues using medications, procedures like ablations, or devices such as pacemakers. His special focus is on lead extraction, which is needed when wires from heart devices stop working or cause infections. He works hard to make these procedures safe and effective as possible.

When meeting a new patient, Dr. Contractor takes time to learn about their life, not just their medical history. He believes in treating every patient the way he would treat a member of his own family. He works closely with other doctors and includes patients and their loved ones in every step of the care plan. His goal is to help each person live a longer and better life.

Outside of work, Dr. Contractor enjoys spending time with his two children. He likes watching movies, singing, and dancing—especially when it helps him relax. He also enjoys being part of the community and values the chance to meet patients outside the clinic.

I want to help people live not just longer, but better. My goal is to help patients do the things they love that their heart condition may have kept them from doing.
