About
Syed Kazmi, MD, is a UW Health neonatologist in the neonatal (newborn) intensive care unit (NICU). He provides advanced medical treatment for premature babies and infants with serious or life-threatening health issues in the first days and weeks of life.
Dr. Kazmi diagnoses and treats newborns with breathing difficulties and complex problems with their heart, lung, brain and digestive system. He cares for babies with congenital disabilities (issues from birth), infections, low birth weights, low blood sugar and jaundice (a yellow coloring of the baby’s skin or eyes). He also treats newborns who need special care after difficult deliveries or cesarean births.
Dr. Kazmi works with a team of specialists to help each baby grow stronger. He aims to give them the best possible start in life. He also supports family members of the babies in his care. He guides them through each step of their baby’s intensive care journey.
I give specialized care to fragile and critically ill newborns. I support their families with warmth, respect and clear communication.
