About

Shenikqua Bouges, MD, is a geriatrician at UW Health. Dr. Bouges provides care for adults aged 65 and older experiencing memory-related issues. She specializes in memory assessments, dementia and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Bouges commonly cares for older adults with vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, primary progressive aphasia, speech difficulties, mood disorders and cognitive difficulties. She works with patients and families to navigate their illnesses from diagnosis through treatment.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bouges is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Bouges’ research focuses on increasing dementia awareness in communities that are traditionally less represented in research. She is passionate about working to build trusting relationships between researchers and the communities they serve.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing the flute and piccolo, traveling, trying new types of food, dancing and running.

My philosophy towards patient care is to treat others how you would want to be treated.
