Sara Pfender, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner who provides health care to pediatric and adolescent patients. She provides care for newborns through young adults and sees patients for annual well-child visits. She also treats those with acute (sudden) injuries or illness. Sara takes a team-based approach to treating her patients. She enjoys learning about their values and what’s important to them. This helps her create a care plan that the family can follow at home. Sara’s goal is to help each of her patients to be physically and mentally healthy. She works to ensure that they don’t have any health barriers to prevent them from achieving their goals. Sara speaks Spanish and has experience working with immigrant and refugee families. She helps them navigate the health care system and local school system. She most enjoys helping these families advocate for their children. Outside of the clinic, Sara enjoys spending time with her two children and her Goldendoodle. It’s very important to me that my patients feel listened to, safe and understood.
