Dr. Johnson is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, as well as the fellowship program director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine training program.  She earned her medical degree from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, CA.  Her academic expertise is in medical education; particularly in teaching communication skills, holistic patient care and symptom-management to medical learners and interprofessional providers.  Her clinical expertise is in caring for hospitalized patients and their families who are dealing with serious or chronic illness and providing assistance with symptom management, family support and complex medical plans of care.
