Ryan Juza, MD, is a UW Health minimally invasive surgeon and an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Juza specializes in caring for patients with abdominal wall hernias. He repairs defects in the abdomen that allow tissue to bulge outward, causing discomfort and inconvenience. Often, Dr. Juza performs complex reconstruction procedures to fix problems for people who’ve had poor results with previous surgeries.

Before surgery, Dr. Juza meets with his patients, reviews their medical history and views their imaging tests. Then, he uses advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques to correct their hernia and restore their ability to sit, stand and move comfortably in daily life.

To provide patients with the best care possible, Dr. Juza focuses his clinical research on robotic surgery as well as surgical innovation/device development looking for new and During his free time, Dr. Juza enjoys travel, outdoor activities and family time.
