About

Robert Freidel, MD — or Dr. Bob as he is known to his patients — is a UW Health family medicine doctor and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Freidel provides general health care to patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.

Dr. Freidel cares for patients in all stages of life. He provides well checks and annual physicals, treats acute (sudden) illnesses, manages chronic (long-term) conditions and evaluates mental health concerns. He also provides newborn care and contraceptive care such as performing vasectomies in the clinic.

Dr. Freidel enjoys getting to know his patients and building relationships with them. He uses his expertise to give his patients the information they need to make educated decisions about their health care. He then works with them to achieve their health goals and celebrates when patients make large strides in their overall health.

Dr. Freidel advocates greatly for preventive care. He believes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. His goal is to keep patients healthy, out of the hospital and living independently for as long as possible.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Freidel is an avid downhill skier and enjoys playing piano.

The care we provide is tailored to each specific individual person, what they're going through and where they are in life.
