About

Paula Cody, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatrician who treats health concerns in teenagers and young adults. She specializes in sexual and reproductive health issues, medical management of eating disorders and other risk-taking behaviors. Dr. Cody is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

With her specialty in medical management of eating disorders, Dr. Cody works as part of a team with a mental health provider and a nutritionist to provide full-spectrum care to her patients. She also talks with her patients about their menstrual health or contraceptive use. Additionally, she openly discusses any issues her patients may have with substance use, cutting, depression, anxiety or other mental health concerns.

Dr. Cody typically sees patients between the ages of 12–26. She understands that the decisions her patients make now can impact their health as an adult. Dr. Cody makes sure her patients know they are in a safe and judgment-free place where they are welcome to discuss any medical concerns.

In her free time, Dr. Cody enjoys spending time with her dogs and her family.

The most rewarding part of my job is providing a safe space where my patients can share the things they're worried about and also the good things in their lives.
