About

Patricia Tellez-Giron, MD, is a family medicine doctor at UW Health and an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health where she mentors students with the goal of increasing diversity in the health care system. She works with patients of all ages, providing preventive care, chronic disease management, mental health support, prenatal care and LGBTQ+ care.

Dr. Tellez-Giron is fluent in both English and Spanish and has a special interest in serving underserved populations. For 25 years, Dr. Tellez-Giron has been providing direct medical services to support the overall well-being of her patients.

In addition to her clinical and advocacy work, Dr. Tellez-Giron is a strong advocate for creating community services for those in need and educating others on how to better serve these populations.

Outside of work, Dr. Tellez-Giron enjoys spending time with her large extended family and traveling to various countries to learn about their traditions.

I like being able to help other people have a better life. Not only in the clinic, but also in the community. By teaching students, I aim to have more helping hands who will advocate for the underserved.
