Michelle A. Poliak-Tunis, MD


Dr. Poliak-Tunis provides chronic pain medicine and spine treatment services as part of the Interventional Pain Management Program. She evaluates patients at the Pain Clinic at UW Health East and the Spine Clinic at Research Park. When an interventional pain treatment is indicated, she performs procedures at the Madison Surgery Center.

Dr. Poliak-Tunis believes in a patient-focused, multidisciplinary approach to care using the latest minimally invasive technologies and evidence-based treatments. She has particular expertise in the comprehensive treatment of non-operative spinal disorders. She understands that pain can have an impact on every aspect of a patient's life, and provides comprehensive treatment solutions. These center on a commitment to rehabilitation, using goal-directed therapies, modalities, medications and injections.

Dr. Poliak-Tunis is a diplomat of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the subspecialty field of pain medicine. She is also a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the American Medical Association.
