About

Michael Beninati, MD, is a UW Health maternal-fetal medicine doctor. He also serves as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Beninati cares for pregnant women with underlying medical disorders and complicated, high-risk pregnancies. He treats women who are critically ill during pregnancy.

Dr. Beninati also diagnoses and treats unborn babies with structural malformations, meaning that certain body parts are not growing normally. In some cases, he and his colleagues use advanced techniques to perform fetal surgery during pregnancy.

His special clinical interests include treating high-risk disorders that happen when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall.

When talking with patients, Dr. Beninati listens to their concerns, outlines their treatment options and provides information to help them understand their conditions. He encourages expectant mothers to reach out with questions whenever needed.

His goals are to empower patients to make informed decisions and to help them achieve a successful delivery.

During his free time, Dr. Beninati enjoys spending time with his own family, golfing and walking outdoors with his dogs.

As specialists at UW Health, we work together to provide the best possible care for expectant mothers who are critically ill and their unborn babies who are at risk.
