About
Mathew Legel, DO, is a UW Health orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Legel cares for people with hip and knee arthritis and performs total joint replacement when needed.
Dr. Legel also diagnoses and treats bone fractures, sports injuries, and hand and arm issues. These issues include carpal tunnel syndrome (pain, numbness and weakness in the hand) and trigger finger (a tendon problem that causes pain, swelling and loss of movement).
Taking a whole-body approach to patient care, Dr. Legel considers his patients’ overall health and wellness when offering care plans. His philosophy is to provide multiple treatment options because many times, the best care is not surgical. He believes that maintaining good health and staying active can reduce a person’s overall discomfort and improve their quality of life.
During his free time, Dr. Legel enjoys golf, running, cars, and spending time with family.
I am here to help care for the well-being of the entire community.
