About

Marina Sharifi, MD, is a UW Health | Carbone Cancer Center medical oncologist who specializes in breast cancer treatment.

Dr. Sharifi places a strong focus on listening to her patients and learning who they are beyond their diagnosis. Knowing that medicine is not one size fits all, she partners with her patients and other specialists to offer the care that’s most effective and also fits each person’s individual goals and lifestyle.

Inspired by the constant stream of new and improved treatment methods, Dr. Sharifi conducts research focused on improving cancer care. She’s currently working to develop blood tests that would help identify which cancer treatments would work best for each individual patient.

In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Sharifi serves as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin  School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking and baking, and playing the violin.

If you listen to your patients, you will find out everything you need to know to give them the best care.
