About

Margaret Knoedler, MD, is a urologist at UW Health and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Urology.

Dr. Knoedler is fellowship trained in endourology and treats patients with kidney stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). She specializes in minimally invasive surgery to treat these conditions. Dr. Knoedler uses state-of-the-art procedures to treat her patients’ conditions, including ureteroscopy, mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy and shock wave lithotripsy (used to break up and remove kidney stones). She also specializes in HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate), a minimally invasive procedure to treat patients with an enlarged prostate.

By using the most up-to-date technology, Dr. Knoedler delivers a faster recovery time, higher success rates and an overall better experience for her patients.

The most rewarding part of taking care of her patients is seeing them thrive after their disease has been treated. Understanding that not all patients require surgery, Dr. Knoedler always takes the patient’s quality of life goals and needs into account when deciding on a treatment plan.

In her free time, Dr. Knoedler enjoys playing sports and staying active with her family.

I want to give patients the best care possible and provide the newest technology available to efficiently and effectively treat their disease.
