About

Maira Luettinger, NP, is a nurse practitioner at UW Health. She treats a wide variety of conditions in older patients ranging from infections, high blood pressure and urinary tract disorders to arthritis and other chronic diseases.

Maira evaluates her patients for polypharmacy (review of multiple medications) and educates them on benefits and possible harms. She helps make sure they’re not taking more medications than needed to achieve their health and wellness goals.

Maira believes in shared decision-making to fulfill each person’s unique needs. She shares her knowledge and insights to guide patients’ decisions while respecting their personal values and preferences.

Working in health care is a goal Maira has had since she was a young girl. Her grandparents inspired her and contributed to a greater awareness of older people’s health care needs. She is motivated to help patients do the best they can with what they have and what they’re able to do.

In her free time, Maira enjoys camping and spending time outdoors with her family.

I love the relationships that we form with patients. It’s rewarding when we work on a treatment plan together and they come back feeling better.
