Madelyn Esposito, LPC, NCC, CST (she/her) is a mental health clinician within UW Health Behavioral Health and Recovery. She is a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and completed University of Michigan's Sexual Health Certificate program. Madelyn's clinical focus includes utilizing psychotherapy to address sexual health concerns, as well as issues related to polyamory, paraphilias, or BDSM/kink. She promotes a sex positive and trauma-informed therapeutic practice.
To improve accessibility to sexual healthcare, Madelyn facilitates a sex therapy consultation group for mental health providers in the Department of Psychiatry. She is a preceptor to medical students, educating them on sex therapy and how to improve inclusivity in clinical practice. Madelyn also supervises psychiatry residents and psychology interns learning couple therapy at Wisconsin Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
Collaboration is an essential component of sex therapy, as many conditions can have physiogenic components. Madelyn collaborates with multiple departments, including urology, gynecology, and pelvic floor physical therapy to improve efficacy.
Madelyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Wisconsin and is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She graduated with her Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University in Chicago, IL.
