Luther Gaston, MD, is a UW Health obstetrician and gynecologist. He is also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Gaston specializes in all aspects of women’s reproductive health. He diagnoses and treats conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. He also provides prenatal and obstetric care throughout pregnancy, labor and childbirth.

In addition to hospital deliveries, Dr. Gaston provides Emergency Department labor and delivery services. His expertise includes maternal safety and critical care. He uses diagnostic and management strategies for safer, healthier deliveries. These include monitoring heart health, encouraging shared decision-making and providing comprehensive, multispecialty care.

Dr. Gaston’s recent research includes using ultrasound-guided approaches to determine the most effective methods of delivery.

In his free time, Dr. Gaston likes to travel and spend time with his family. He also enjoys walking and interactive fitness workouts.

I love what I do. It's rewarding to make people healthier and get patients through difficult deliveries or pregnancy-related complications so they can go back home to their families.
