Lisa Barroilhet, MD is a gynecologic oncologist at UW Health and an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In her role, she treats women living with ovarian, cervical, vulvar, uterine and vaginal cancers. Her clinical interests include cancer prevention and working with patients at high risk for developing gynecologic cancers (such as BRCA patients). She holds board certifications in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology.

Dr. Barroilhet views her connection to medicine as personal and strives to make deep connections with the people she treats. She considers herself lucky to have been able to sustain years-long relationships with her patients following their cancer treatments. 

Her research lab studies new ways to prevent gynecological cancers, specifically ovarian cancer. Some of her studies involve early changes in cancer cells and focus on how to prevent changes in cell metabolism to keep them from becoming cancerous. She’s also interested in integrating behavioral health treatments into primary health care settings. In her spare time, Dr. Barroilhet likes to read, hike and spend time with her family.
