About

Laura Chen, MD, is a UW Health Kids hospitalist and assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Chen cares for children with a variety of health conditions who are spending time in the hospital. Her areas of interest include health equity, quality improvement and educating medical students, residents and fellows.

Dr. Chen is also interested in using quality improvement methods to better the care of patients speak a language other than English. Her recent research focuses on how to reduce hospitalizations for children with complex medical needs.

She is passionate about medical education and has received several teaching awards, including the Clinical Teacher award from the University of Wisconsin’s Family Medicine Residency.

My philosophy is to provide patient-centered, high-quality care to each patient and family.
