About

Kristin Friedl, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner who treats patients with burns and wounds, including frostbite, pressure injuries and other skin conditions. She primarily provides inpatient consultations for those admitted to the hospital.

When Kristin first meets a patient, she acknowledges the fear and anxiety they may have regarding their injury. She ensures constant communication with the patient and their caregivers, not only for the medical side of their care but also for the emotional side. She honors her patients’ wishes and makes sure they feel valued.

One of Kristin’s favorite parts of the job is training and education for the next generation of physicians and surgeons. She helps educate residents on conditions and injuries related to burns and wounds, ensuring they have a solid background for their future work.

Outside of the clinic, Kristin enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

The most rewarding part of my job is when our patients are able to return to the things they enjoyed before their injury.
