Kristen Marten, DO, is a pediatrician at UW Health and an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and the Division of Cardiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Marten treats pediatric conditions ranging from viruses, infections and sleep disorders to broken bones, anxiety and depression. She cares for newborns and children through adolescence and young adulthood.

Dr. Marten offers specialized treatment for pediatric obesity and related cardiovascular risks such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. She counsels patients about diet, nutrition and lifestyle so they can prevent illness and stay healthy.

Dr. Marten also works with local community organizations that promote children’s health. She is involved in various programs that encourage healthy habits such as nutritious school lunches and daily physical activity.

In her free time, Dr. Marten is an avid baker with a special fondness for chocolate chip cookies. She enjoys cooking, running and staying active.

I love having a hand in shaping children’s lives. Whether it's helping a family through a cancer diagnosis or treating a teenager with anxiety and depression and then seeing them off to college – it’s a gratifying experience.
