About

Krista Kienitz is a registered occupational therapist at UW Health where she specializes in caring for infants, children and adolescents with a wide range of conditions, including hand-to-shoulder injuries, neuromotor, sensory and developmental conditions. Krista strives to make a difference by helping her patients with movement and function, so they can do their daily activities such as eating, dressing, playing and more.

As a certified hand therapist, Krista works with patients to help them improve function in their arms and hands, which could be affected by congenital anomalies, injuries, surgeries or disabilities. As a certified lymphedema specialist, she uses special techniques to reduce swelling in the arms and legs of people who’ve had cancer surgery or lymph node removal.

She is passionate about family-centered care, which means she recognizes the key role of family members in the lives of her patients and partners with them to work for their loved one’s health and well-being.

I became an occupational therapist to help people participate in a meaningful life with as much independence, dignity and comfort as possible.
