About
Dr. Kim Dittus is a medical oncologist at UW Health. She specializes in breast cancer care and has additional training in integrative medicine. Dr. Dittus is actively involved in research at the Carbone Cancer Center, where she contributes to clinical trials and supportive care studies for individuals with cancer.
Dr. Dittus focuses on treating patients with breast cancer, providing systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, targeted treatments, and anti-estrogen therapies. She also participates in research aimed at improving cancer treatments and supportive care interventions. Her integrative medicine background allows her to offer a holistic approach to patient care.
Dr. Dittus believes in treating the whole person, not just the disease. She emphasizes a patient-centered approach, listening carefully to each individual's needs and goals. She works to maintain patient autonomy and supports decision-making that aligns with their personal lives and values. Her goal is to provide compassionate care that addresses both medical and emotional aspects of cancer treatment.
Outside of work, Dr. Dittus enjoys trail running and spending time outdoors with her two blue heelers. Despite having had knee replacements, she remains active and finds joy in being on the trails. Her love for nature and animals reflects her energetic and positive outlook on life.
For individuals with breast cancer, my hope is that if their disease is curable, we help them through it in the best way possible. And for those whose cancer cannot be cured, we remain with them, providing support and care throughout their journey.
