About

Kieran Sahasrabudhe, MD, is a UW Health hematologist (blood disorder doctort). He’s also an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care within the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Sahasrabudhe diagnoses and treats people with blood disorders and blood cancers, including all types of leukemia. When a patient has leukemia, the bone marrow makes large numbers of abnormal blood cells that crowd out the healthy cells. Dr. Sahasrabudhe helps his patients fight their blood cancer and reduce any symptoms, such as weakness, fatigue, infection or bleeding.

To provide the very best care, Dr. Sahasrabudhe takes time to get to know his patients as individuals. He explains their blood disorder and outlines the latest treatment options, including new drugs and clinical trials.

Understanding that blood cancer is a frightening diagnosis, Dr. Sahasrabudhe listens to each person’s concerns, answers questions and tells them what to expect. Together, they create a treatment plan. If needed, he offers helpful resources, such as palliative (comfort) care and support groups.

To improve care, Dr. Sahasrabudhe researches new blood cancer treatments and studies patient outcomes.

During his free time, Dr. Sahasrabudhe enjoys running, biking and traveling.

I offer patients the highest quality of cancer care, including exciting new therapies. I help them with each step of their treatment journey.
