Karilin is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who provides psychotherapy to adolescents (12+) and adults. She is a graduate of UW-Whitewater and has been providing therapy to individuals since 2012. Karilin is passionate about treating clients with respect, compassion and dignity and she has extensive training to support people with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, relational stressors and those seeking general counseling and support. Karilin is EMDR certified and uses an eclectic approach to treatment which includes a variety of theories such as client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, trauma-based therapy and 12-Step recovery. Karilin’s goal in therapy is to build a strong therapeutic relationship and help individuals gain new skills through self-actualization. Psychotherapy is viewed as a collaboration and the patient is in the driver’s seat.
