About
Kallie Smith, NP, is a UW Health family medicine nurse practitioner. She provides comprehensive primary care for people of all ages.
Kallie treats colds, flu, headaches, ear infections and other illnesses. She also treats minor injuries and helps people manage chronic (ongoing) conditions, including arthritis, diabetes and heart disease. She performs physical exams and routine checkups.
During clinic visits, Kallie uses a patient-centered approach. She talks with each person about their overall health and lifestyle. Together, they create care plans to address each patient’s unique needs. Kallie works to help people feel better, prevent illness and live healthier lives.
To improve patient care, Kallie studied the impact of social media on the mental health of adolescents. She also studied whether teaching hospital and nursing home patients to drink enough water might affect their number of urinary tract infections.
Away from the clinic, Kallie enjoys spending time with family, baking and exercising. She believes that an active lifestyle helps keep people physically and mentally healthy.
I enjoy caring for others and making a difference in people’s lives.
