About
Julie Hildebrand, MD is a UW Health rheumatologist and a clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She specializes in diagnosing and treating autoimmune diseases and arthritis. With a strong commitment to patient care, Dr. Hildebrand works closely with individuals to help manage complex conditions and improve their quality of life.
Dr. Hildebrand treats patients with systemic autoimmune conditions and various forms of arthritis. Some of the most common conditions she manages include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus and vasculitis. She also uses musculoskeletal ultrasound to help diagnose inflammation and guide treatment decisions, allowing for more targeted and effective care.
Dr. Hildebrand believes in working together with patients to develop personalized treatment plans. She values shared decision-making and ensures that patients are fully informed and involved in their care. Listening is central to her approach; she emphasizes that understanding a patient’s concerns is key to providing the best possible care.
Outside of work, Dr. Hildebrand enjoys playing the piano, hiking and traveling. With her children grown, she has more time to explore these hobbies and stay active. Her love for music and nature helps her maintain a balanced and fulfilling life beyond the clinic.
My hope for each of my patients is that, if not at the first visit, with subsequent visits, we will be able to put a treatment plan in place that will allow them to have an improved quality of life.
