Jorge Villacorta, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor. Dr. Villacorta provides preventive health services for people of all ages. He also helps patients manage chronic health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (lung condition that causes breathing difficulties) and hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol). Dr. Villacorta offers his patients care for minor illnesses and injuries, including colds, flu and allergies.
Dr. Villacorta takes the time to speak with and get to know each of his patients. He works to fully explain health conditions and treatment options so they become informed partners in the health care decision-making process. When needed, Dr. Villacorta consults with specialty providers to ensure that his patients receive comprehensive care for all their concerns.
He grew up in a family of doctors and was inspired to enter the medical field from a young age. Dr. Villacorta speaks English and Spanish, allowing him to care for a wider patient population.
Outside of work, Dr. Villacorta enjoys staying active, playing soccer and spending time with his family.
I always knew that I wanted to be a doctor to help people understand that life and being healthy are the most valuable treasures we have.
