Joey Thims, NP, is a critical care nurse practitioner at UW Health. She examines, diagnoses and treats patients with serious illnesses or injuries who are hospitalized in the Trauma and Life Support Center (TLC).

Joey’s clinical interests include adult-gerontology (elderly) acute care. As a critical care nurse practitioner, she also enjoys educating patients and family members about all of their medical options.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Joey was a nurse for 30 years. Her care philosophy is to treat patients and their families holistically. To her, it is critical to understand their background and believes to provide the best personalized care possible.

In her free time, Joey enjoys being physically active, cooking and reading. She also likes to spend time with her husband, children and cats.
