Jensena Carlson, MD

About

Jensena Carlson, MD, is a family medicine doctor at UW Health. Dr. Carlson cares for families and patients of all ages, treating a wide spectrum of illnesses, injuries and medical conditions. Her special interests include women’s health and maternity care, as well as newborn care. She also enjoys educating, advising, coordinating and advocating for patients across medical specialties.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Carlson is an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She partners with maternal fetal medicine specialists and other colleagues to research postpartum high blood pressure and ways to improve family medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Carlson enjoys reading and spending time with family, canoeing, fishing and cross-country skiing. She was once a cover-band bassist and hopes to form a new band again.

I love taking care of families. I advise and guide patients based on their personal goals and my medical knowledge and experience over time.
