Jennifer Svarverud, DO, is a UW Health family medicine doctor and an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Svarverud cares for patients of all ages.
She diagnoses and treats acute injuries and illnesses and manages chronic diseases and complex medical conditions. Dr. Svarverud has a special interest in women's health, preconception counseling and birth control. She also provides osteopathic manipulative therapy and acupuncture for pain management.
Dr. Svarverud partners with each of her patients and helps them navigate their health care journey. She views her role as an educator to describe the risks and benefits of each therapeutic option.
In addition to her practice, Dr. Svarverud focuses her research on residency education to improve processes and identify struggling learners earlier.
In her free time, Dr. Svarverud enjoys baking, reading and spending time with her family.
I enjoy getting to know my patients and seeing them grow while helping them maintain a healthy lifestyle.
