Hee Soo Jung, MD, FACS, FCCM, is a fellowship-trained trauma and acute care surgeon at UW Health and an associate professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care and Regional General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where he also serves as program director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship.
Dr. Jung treats people with critical injuries and illnesses, often during emergency situations. He is skilled in a wide range of medical services, including appendectomies, burn surgery, gallbladder removal, hernia repair and bowel surgery.
Whether in the operating room, trauma bay or clinic, Dr. Jung works closely with other medical staff as part of a team to provide the best possible care for each patient. He values the opportunity to talk with patients and families while offering hope and help during some of the worst moments of their lives.
During free time, Dr. Jung enjoys running and biking along the trails in Madison.
The most rewarding part of patient care is watching people recover, walk out of our hospital, reconnect with loved ones and go on to lead meaningful lives.
