Emily Cardamone, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in gastroenterology. Emily cares for people of all ages with medical conditions that affect the gastrointestinal (digestive) tract. This includes the mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach and intestines.
Emily sees patients who have trouble swallowing, reflux issues, abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea and many other medical conditions.
During the first visit, Emily enjoys getting to know her patients. She asks about their symptoms and listens to their concerns. She involves patients in decision-making by giving them several treatment options. Then, she creates a personalized care plan to treat their conditions.
The most rewarding moments of her career happen when patients return and tell her they’re feeling better and that she has helped them on their road to recovery.
When not caring for patients, Emily enjoys traveling with her husband, yoga and walks with her dog.
I work to make sure we address our patients’ needs and answer their questions. I want them to have an excellent patient experience.
