About
Ella Christoph, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care medicine doctor. She helps care for adults who are very sick and need special attention in the hospital.
Dr. Christoph focuses on treating adults with serious breathing problems and illnesses like sepsis. She works in the Trauma and Life Support Center at University Hospital, where she helps patients with conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome and respiratory failure. She is a member of several professional groups, including the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Christoph believes in working closely with patients and their families to make sure they feel supported and understood. When meeting a new patient, she listens carefully and works with a team to make the best decisions for their care. She wants every patient to feel safe and respected during their time in the hospital.
Dr. Christoph is also an instructor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and is involved in helping to train future doctors. She is involved in research that looks at how to make care better for patients and families, especially during difficult times. Her work also focuses on improving teamwork and communication in the intensive care unit.
I am passionate about making sure patients and their families feel heard and cared for, especially during some of the hardest moments in their lives.
