About

Liz earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Trauma and Crisis Intervention from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2016; while also completing her clinical internship at UCAN Residential Treatment Center providing Trauma Focused CBT to adolescents. Since that time, Liz has worked within the communities of Chicago and Lake County Illinois providing mental health services to adults with severe mental illness, children and families involved with DCFS and most recently young adults attending the College of Lake County. Liz utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address mood disorders through an evidenced based and measurable approach and to ensure the client’s active participation in therapy. She also implements Psychodynamic, Strengths-Based and Trauma-Focused therapies in order to uncover repressed experiences and emotions that may be contributing to current struggles, while empowering the client to build upon existing strengths. Liz strongly believes the client is the expert of their own lives and encourages the client to use therapy as a tool and safe space to explore areas of their life causing distress and pain.
