About

Denise Fryzelka, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife at UW Health. Denise provides treatment for women, transgender women, and non-binary people across their lifespan, providing both maternity care and primary health care.

As a midwife, Denise provides a full range of maternity care, from family planning and pregnancy to postpartum care. She also works with patients in menopause and those with gynecological infections and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. Using a holistic approach, she aligns her services to address each patient’s physical, mental and emotional needs.

Denise works to provide care in a safe, judgment-free environment, inclusive of all members of our diverse population. She believes in the importance of focusing on the whole person, treating each patient as a unique individual with dignity, respect and kindness. Fluent in Spanish, French and Haitian Creole, Denise proudly serves a diverse community of patients, including transgender women, non-binary people and other members of our diverse population.

In her free time, Denise enjoys learning new languages and cultures, tackling DIY projects and spending time outside in nature.

Aiding in [a patient’s] self-empowerment and validating their experience and knowledge of their own bodies and their abilities is the most important part of my role.
