Dr. Karahalios specializes in helping infants, children and teens with heart problems, especially those with heart failure who need advanced care with medicine, heart pumps or transplants. Some of his patients need medications to help their hearts work better and others may need devices or a heart transplant.
Dr. Karahalios believes in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. When meeting a new patient, he takes time to learn about their interests and build trust. He works closely with families and includes them in every step of the care plan. He believes that listening and working together helps create the best path forward. He also values being part of a strong team and enjoys building relationships with patients, families, and the community.
Outside of work, Dr. Karahalios enjoys staying active. He is a dedicated runner and recently completed his first triathlon.
My hope for each and every one of my patients is that despite whatever diagnosis comes their way, they’re able to lead happy, fulfilled lives with everything they could hope for.
