David Yang, MD, is a s a UW Health pathologist who specializes in hematopatholgy (the study of diseases of the cells that make up our blood). As part of a multispecialty team, Dr. Yang works with hematologists (blood disease specialists) and other doctors and specialists. He analyzes blood and tissues to diagnose cancerous and noncancerous diseases of the blood, bone marrow and immune system. He also helps to direct the best therapies for each patient’s condition and care needs. Dr. Yang is a professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health where he also serves as Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and Medical Director for Clinical Laboratories. His research focuses on advancing care for challenging blood diseases. He studies diseases such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma and related immune system disorders to help improve diagnostic accuracy, medical procedures and patient outcomes. My work helps to resolve some of the diagnostic and clinical challenges of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and other complex immune system cancers.
