As a physician specially trained in emergency medicine, David Tillman, MD, leads a team of expert health care clinicians who treat people with illnesses or injuries that could be life-threatening or pose an immediate risk to their health and well-being. Injury or illness can be caused by disease, infection, stroke, heart attack, or bodily trauma, and may include symptoms such as fevers, vomiting, bleeding, shortness of breath, dizziness, weakness and pain. He speaks with patients, obtains lab tests and imaging, such as X-rays to diagnose the injury or illness and provides necessary treatment.   

Whether it is a life-threatening event, such as a heart attack, or a condition needing rapid treatment, such as pneumonia, Dr. Tillman attentively and compassionately listens to all patients to understand their health care needs and provide the most advanced medical care available. 

Dr. Tillman’s career interests center on medical student and resident education and include mentorship, simulation and curriculum development. He also leads the Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health which introduces medical students to the field of emergency medicine and fosters students’ interest in the specialty.
