About

Daniel Towns, DO, is a psychiatrist at UW Health. He treats adults who are hospitalized and dealing with various mental health diagnoses and challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Towns has a clinical interest in community mental health and trauma recovery.

To ensure the best possible results, Dr. Towns works directly with the patient to identify the care plan that will be most helpful to their mental health and well-being. Prescribed treatments could include medications, psychotherapy, or a combination of both, as well as other interventions or lifestyle changes.

Dr. Towns strives to truly know his patients. He works to understand his patients’ lives — including their challenges, values, relationship issues and goals — so that he can meaningfully help them address any mental health issues they may be facing.

In his free time, Dr. Towns enjoys activities that boost his own mental well-being, including spending time in nature, riding his bike and gardening.
