About
Dr. Stone is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin in 1988 as director of Nuclear Cardiology. His clinical activities include supervising and interpreting treadmill and pharmacologic stress tests, interpreting cardiac PET scans, implementing novel imaging protocols and serving as clinical liaison for the Nuclear Cardiology section, which provides a broad base of nuclear imaging techniques. In 2003, he was appointed director of Cardiology Outreach, overseeing outreach clinics at regional hospitals in southern and central Wisconsin. His special interests are noninvasive imaging of heart disease and regional distribution of specialty care.

Research and publications
Dr. Stone is active in studies of myocardial metabolism and perfusion using PET and gamma camera agents. His research awards include the National Research Service Award and the American Heart Association-Wisconsin Affiliate David McClain Award.
