About

Cecily Cassel, PA, is a physician assistant at UW Health. She works alongside vascular surgeons to treat patients with blood flow disorders such as clotting, thrombosis, vascular diseases and other circulatory conditions.

Cecily cares for patients with diseases affecting the arteries, such as arteriosclerosis (stiff arteries) and patients with venous diseases affecting the veins. She also assists with vascular conditions that affect both veins and arteries. Cecily educates patients about their care, including treatment options such as open surgery or minimally invasive procedures.

Cecily’s initial interest in medicine was sparked by her own experiences as a young patient with a broken elbow. The care team made her recovery a fun, interactive journey and she recalls looking forward to her medical appointments. Today, Cecily enjoys the challenge of evaluating symptoms and testing to diagnose and treat vascular conditions.

I believe it’s important for patients and providers to work together for optimal health. I encourage open communication and patient education in order for patients to make fully informed decisions about their healthcare.
