About

Carey Walters-Bernards, PA, is a physician assistant at UW Health. Carey treats people with acute and chronic pain, injuries and disorders involving the back and neck, including lumbar spinal stenosis, cervical stenosis and disk herniations.

As a physician assistant, Carey works closely with a team of spine surgeons to diagnose conditions and offer treatment plans to reduce pain and improve movement. She takes a collaborative approach to finding the most suitable treatment options, whether that’s physical therapy, orthotics, injections or surgery. If surgery is required, Carey assists doctors in a wide-range of procedures. She also cares for patients before and after surgery.

Her goal is always to provide the best possible care at each visit and ultimately help patients return to the activities they enjoy.
